Baptism Sunday -Mountain July 5th
Here at Parkway, we believe that baptism is an outward expression of an inward transformation. Baptism is NOT what saves you, but rather what we use to demonstrate what Christ has done in our lives. Being baptized is important because Jesus commanded us to do this (Matthew 28:19). The Bible says that Christ died for our sins, was buried and then raised again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). That is what baptism symbolizes. When you stand in the water, it's a symbol of Jesus dying on the cross. When you go under the water, it's a symbol of Jesus being buried in the grave. When you come up out of the water, it's a symbol of Jesus rising from the grave. All of this is done in front of people so you can show them that you have made a commitment to Jesus.
* Note, July baptisms for both campuses will take place outdoors during Party at the Park on July 5th at Vinyard Park (4 -7 pm).
